Jew-Tube

My pal Phreeduh who I met at youth group decades ago, just sent me this link.

I am going to make latkes for our meeting today aussi. It's a Chanukah time of year isn't it just.

FUCKING INTERNETS

Here is a funny video about the internet and how stupid it is, forget group hugs that post was from yesterday when I clearly was operating under reduced brainwaves.

Yes I will blog about this song.

Speaking of reduced brainwaves, yesterday was so weird...

Hot New Web2.0 Property up for grabs!

whipprsnappr logo

It's called 'WhipprSnappr', and it's for all those people who have started hating the web and specifically web applications. Alison just made it up - so sadly I can't take credit for the sheer genius, but like all good gate-crashers, I can at least try to brand the power.

If you have begun to roll your eyes whenever you think about the power to harness (as a verb)the synergy of user-centric, user generated content, keeping in mind the ultimate remixability and co-creation potential of our granular networks..

libre graphics

Pata Macedo one of the students in my "building dynamic websites in a ridiculously short amount of time" class told me about this conference in MTL in early may.

http://www.libregraphicsmeeting.org/

We bring together developers and users of the best of free software graphics applications - Blender, GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, Scribus, and more. 2007 promises to be a fun ride, with tutorials and presentations of applications, and lots of time and space to chat, meet up with old friends, make new ones. Plans will be made, hacking and drawing will be done, fun will be had.

Sound good to me, I am so addicted to Photoshop, maybe this will be the kick in the ace I need to stop relying so heavily on Macromedia image editing tools.

Affirmative.

Today is wet and snowy. It's a slushstorm, a slushzard a wet-shoe nightmare. To combat the weather, in about 5 minutes I am going to start reading and writing a five page response to a paper by my new academic super-hero Deirdre McClosky, but first I am going to write about Jen and her Yeps.

See, I had to do this interview via Skype with my good friend who shall remain nameless for academic reasons. To test my little recording device I called Jen and asked her to voice-chat with me for a while, just to make sure the recorder was in good working order for the interview.

Sexy Geeks? hm... I smell a rat

Vot for your favorite sexy geek - Wired - bodyhack

Mehh.... none of these geeks are sexy, I mean they are attractive, but everyone knows that geeks aren't sexy because they are attractive, they are sexy because they are fucking nutbars who do stuff like make you brownies for your birthday using a convection oven and an arc welder they picked up off the street.

This list is totally stupid and i would like to open the floor for real sexy geeks and the reasons they are sexy here on my blog.

Here are my top three sexy geeks Not in any order:

Maya because she quotes keirkegaard and makes heartbreak an IA problem.

Jen because she adopts animals off the street and also can still function using a websafe colour palette.

Alison Because she gets really excited ( I was going to use another phrase but I am too mature) when she think about antennae photo projects, and because she likes to dress up fancy but only once every four years.

MK Who once almost asphixiated herself in my kitchen getting drunk and trying to get a vocoder to work inside a gas mask or something. Oh yeah and cuz she's my HOMIE.

MySpace the New World Order

This is the second time I have been at Shaika and have had the benefit of overhearing discussions of peoples cultural use of Myspace.

In fact this is not just the second time, it's the second time in a row.

Last week it was a 30 year old who had just moved back home and was using Myspace to launch his music career. This time it's some group that are a "band" (don't know who yet). Their loud and pink shirted weasel manager has just hired a company to do all that "Myspace shit".

I am going to have to figure out a way to use this eavesdropping as ethnographic approach in my paper. :)
