Nostalgia MP3

Ruth is going to love this one. I just downloaded Ghost of a Dog by Edie Brickell I can't believe it took me so long to remember this album from when I was 14-16. I probably listened to it off an on for about 2 years.

I am listening to "He said" a great little ditty for the constantly bereft, which is who I was when I was 16. It's weird how I am now 15 years older and a lot of the things she says are still kinda true. 16 year old me is a little surprised that I am still figuring this shit out.

Tracks:

Woyaho

HeSaid

Strings of Love

Stwisted

This Eye

Ruth when I see you in September you, me and the kids are going to have to have a big old dance party. Okay but I'll be honest, if you (dear reader) haven't got a 15 year old girl who grew up in the 1990's trapped somewhere in your psyche this music will probably not move you. It's total grunge-folk magic.

I am really adding like all these tracks to my little list and it's pretty hilarious because each one I say to myself, "oh yeah, that's totally me too". I commented about this on Shameless, how girl music always has this intense emotional resonance like as compared to say Old Beastie Boys. Also if these are the songs I loved then, and based on what happened this week. Really, I am not that different than I was. I better get used to myself.
